Bertha was a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethern. In early years she was an RN in New York City. She loved making afghans for everyone in her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
Her husband, Thomas R. Hamilton, whom she married January 1945, preceded her in death May 15, 2008. A great grandchild; two brothers, and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include five daughters, Lorraine Hamilton of Corpis Cristi, Texas, Arlene Rabatin of Akron, Irene Barns of Davie, Florida, Lillie Bierlair, and Katherine Franklin both of Salem; 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Lillie Black of Nyack, New York.
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
