Sarah A. Dunn was the wife of the widower, Lemuel Tibbitts.. They were wed August 17, 1862. She was born on Christmas Day of 1834, and grew to womanhood in New York, receiving her education in the common schools. Sarah's father was James H. Dunn, a native of Glasgow, Scotland, and was a youth of sixteen years when he came to America. Her mother, Sally, was born in New York. They were also buried in the Hingham Cemetery, where a suitable monument marks their last resting place. Sarah and Lemuel were the parents of one son and three daughters: Ulysses J., Iona S., Leola E. and Effie R. completes the family.
