Mary A. Fosmire Horan, 81, of Cohoes, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Hayes Fosmire and wife of the late William F. Horan.

Mrs. Horan was educated in the Troy Public School System, was a veteran of World War II serving in the Women's Army Corps., and was employed at the Watervliet Arsenal as a machinist retiring in 1987.

Survivors include eight sons, William Martin of Troy, Bart J. Horan of Va., Charles F. Horan of Troy, William M. Horan of Green Island, William F. Horan of Cohoes, Francis P. Horan of Albany, Anthony J. Horan of Glenville, Michael J. Horan of Averill Park; five daughters, Ann Marie Fails of Fla., Mary E. Horan of Okla., Patricia M. Marvin of Clifton Park, Margaret S. Sequin of Cohoes, and Elizabeth C. Ables of Tenn. She was the sister of Thomas Fosmire of Saratoga, Charles Fosmire of Cohoes, John Fosmire of Waterford, Robert Fosmire of Fla., Katherine Skadra of Troy. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday morning at 8:15 from the John H. Clinton Funeral Home, Washington Park and Third St., Troy and 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Cohoes.

Contributions can be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center or Mercy Care Hospice at Seton Health.
