ST. CHARLES, Minn. — Emma Abbott, 96, of St. Charles, died Saturday (Aug 9, 1986) in the Whitewater Manor Health Care Center at St. Charles.
She was born Oct. 3, 1889 to Carl and Johanna Schuett Ladwig in Hamburg, Germany.
She moved to the United States as a young girl and married Robert Abbott on Sept. 16, 1908,
in Rochester, Minn. He died Nov. 19, 1959.
She was a member of St. Charles United Church of Christ.
Survivors are one son, Merton, of Waterloo, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, two brothers, one son, and one daughter have died.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoff Funeral Home, Sellner Chapel, at St. Charles, the Rev. James A. Parker of St. Charles United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga Township. Friends may call from 4 - 9 p.m. Monday and until time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
