Thelma E. Salmon, the daughter of James Quinter and Sadie (Eckerson) Lewis, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on December 3, 1919 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 3, 2006, at the age of 86.

She grew up in Hamilton County and attended Aurora Public Schools.

On August 12, 1939, she married Marion Salmon. They lived and farmed near Stockham. After their retirement, they moved to Aurora. Marion passed away on October 1, 1988.

Thelma was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where she was church school treasurer for 28 years. She was a member of the Verona Literary Club, Prairie Gem Church, Evangelical United Brethren Church, and the United Methodist Church. Thelma was the Hamilton County Fair Horticulture Superintendent and a 4-H Leader for many years.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, four infant siblings, her brothers Keith, James Harvey and Ralph Lewis, and sister Mary Alice Vetter. Her great-grandson Tanner Salmon and son-in-law Ron Obermier also preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Jim and Martha Salmon of Aurora, Doug and Peg Salmon of Omaha, and Roger and Judy Salmon of Aurora; her daughters Kathryn Obermier of Aurora, Ginger and Dick Rice of Chapman, Becky and Kelly Kliewer of Aurora, and Nancy and Eric Lohrmeyer of Aurora; sisters Hannah Miller of Aurora, Lois Lolmaugh of California, and Dorothy Campbell of Aurora; brother-in-law Don Vetter of Marquette, three sister-in-laws Grace Lewis of Conyers, GA, Bobbi Lewis of Ipswich, England, and Margaret Quick of Huntsville, AL; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
