VICTOR P. REMIKER
(1911 - 2016)

Victor P. Remiker, age 104, formerly of Clarks Mills and currently a resident of the Villa at Felician Village, Manitowoc died peacefully with his loving family at his side on Sunday morning, March 20, 2016 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Vic was born on June 26, 1911 in the town of Franklin, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Stefl) Remiker. He attended St. Patrick Elementary School at Maple Grove. On July 12, 1938, Vic married the former Gertrude E. Kasbaum at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2005. Vic had various jobs as a carpenter, welder, gas and grocery salesman, church janitor and a shipbuilder for Manitowoc Shipbuilding, building submarines during WWII. He began his 34-year career as a millwright in 1942 with Lakeside Machine Shop. Vic had a curious, creative mind shown by his master woodworking. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, patience, love of music, travel, camping, gardening and cutting lawn.

Vic was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, the church's Holy Names Society, the Carpenter's Union and Catholic Knights Branch #146 of Clarks Mills.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Pat (Joe) Pivonka, Valders; Kathy (Ken) LaCroix, Sheboygan; Mary (Don) Thompson, Waunakee; seven grandchildren: Tara (David) Reagles; Todd (Judy) Pivonka; Kari (John) Madson; Kelley (Miguel) Galeano; Marta (Sam) Statz; Wade Thompson; Abbey Thompson and Scott Hanson; twelve great grandchildren: Katie and Noah Pivonka; Morgan and Mason Madson; Maya and Marcus Galeano; Madigan, Jackson, Clayton and Cecelia Statz; Theo and Josephine Hanson; one brother: Joseph Remiker, Manitowoc; one sister: Mary Hastreiter, Cato, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. Victor was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers and five sisters-in-law: Edward (Laura) Remiker; Mary Zipperer Remiker; Herbert (Katheryn) Remiker; Elmer (Marie) Remiker Sr.; Mary Remiker; one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Herbert Hastreiter; Isabell (Eugene) Brennan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
