CLEVELAND -- Melissa "Missy" Prewitt, 52, a resident of Hixson, passed away Monday in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Betty Ruth Alexander and was also preceded in death by her aunt Helen Wilhoit her uncles Yul Wilhoit and Don Bible her cousins Vickie Overton and Tom Hendrix.
Missy was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She was a Customer Service Representative with Dunlap Industries in Chattanooga with over 28 years of service. But most of all she was a loving wife, momma and friend. She had a heart of gold who first of all loved the Lord but also loved puppies and tennis shoes.
Missy is survived by her husband of 25 years Brad Prewitt her son Alex Prewitt both of Hixson, her cousins David Overton, Debbie Hendrix and Kevin Hendrix all of Greeneville TN., her aunt Lib Bible also of Greeneville, her niece Bonnie Moedano and Chloe Tilley and her husband Aaron, her nephew Dylan Moedano and her mother in law Wanda Prewitt.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held 1 o’clock Wednesday at Westmore Church of God in Cleveland TN., with Pastor Kelvin Paige officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11am until service time at the church. The interment will be 12:30pm Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Greeneville TN., with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11am until 12 noon at Asbury United Methodist Church in Greeneville.
