ELLWOOD CITY - Ralph F. (Red) Baker, 56, of 4 Spring Ave. Ext., died at 12:50 a.m. today in Ellwood City General Hospital after a two-month illness.

He was born in Beaver Falls, on Jan. 22, 1913, to the late Edwin and Margaret Gumpf Baker. He was employed as a tool room attendant in the cold draw department of the Ellwood Works, U.S. Steel Corp. for 29 years. He had been married since 1935 to the former Erma Foringer who survives him. Mr. Baker was a member of the Ellport Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Ronald D. of Ellwood City, Gary W. at home and Marine Lance Cpl. Dennis R. in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) Brown of Ft. Hood, Texas and Mrs. Judith J. Baney at home; a brother, Edward of Beaver Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Hal (Clara) Andrews of Port Crane, N.Y., Mrs. Norma Snyder of Ellwood City and Mrs. Arthur (Edith) Vaughn of Monaca; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William.

Friends will be received at the Kenneth C. Turner Funeral Home, 500 Sixth St., from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. H. W. Diehl, former pastor of the Church of the Nazarene.

Interment will follow the service in Locust Grove Cemetery.
