On the morning of March 21, 2016, Janice Scheopner passed away peacefully at her house surrounded by family members. She was born in Goodland, Kansas, in 1935, a daughter of Jack and Dora Bigbee.

She graduated from Mount Saint Gertrude’s Academy in 1953 and shortly thereafter married the love of her live, Leo Anthony Scheopner. Janice and Leo had seven children together. They started their lives together in Goodland, Kansas, and moved several times. They always headed west and ended up in Washington state.

Janice had many interests and hobbies. She was an accomplished baton twirler in high school and even came in second place in a competition. She enjoyed many hobbies including; baking, cooking, quilting, painting, bunco, cards, sewing, knitting, scrap booking, golfing, fishing, and camping. But most of all spending time with family and friends.

She was a devout Catholic who was always volunteering through various activities involving the church in Roslyn and Cle Elum.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Leo who passed away in February of 2000. She is survived by her children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 30th, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Roslyn, WA. Burial of cremains will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Cle Elum.

Reception following burial at Cle Elum Eagles at 1:00 p.m.
The family has set up a team called Janice’s Warriors in the Cle Elum Relay for Life and has suggested memorials be made to this event.
