Betty L. Shetron, 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016, at the Shook Home.

Born September 27, 1928, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jane Mills Bitner.

She retired from the former H.J. Heinz Company in Chambersburg after 25 years of service.

Mrs. Shetron was a life-long member of St. John's United Church of Christ where she was baptized in 1943.

Her husband, John A. Shetron, whom she married on February 14, 1948, preceded her in death on March 21, 2005.

She is survived by her daughter, Saundra "Saun" Mateer and husband Rev. Ronald Mateer of Martinsville, VA; a grandson, Brian Michael Mateer and wife Amy, and four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kylie, Madelyn, and Katelyn Mateer, all of Charlotte, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Deron Matthew Mateer in 1997.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 25, 2016, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Mark Ruzicka will officiate.

Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln-Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
