Carol L. Yager, 79, of Rome and formerly of Camden, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born on April 15, 1936 in Rome, the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Cline Riley. On January 4, 1964 she married Harold Yager. He passed away on December 28, 2009.

Carol worked at Camden Wire for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. She later worked part-time tending the door at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. in both Camden and Rome for several years.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Camden and more recently the First Presbyterian Church of Rome.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Lori Yager of Parish and Todd and Melissa Yager of Camden; three sisters, Aileen Campbell of Woodbridge, VA, Delores (Dick) Sanborn of Oriskany Falls, and Shirley Fox of Rome; four step-children, Donald (Judy) Yager of Leeds, NY, Carol Pittas of Florida, Sharon (Roger) Babcock of Cairo, NY, and Donna (Dick) Halukiewicz of Blossvale; four cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Heather, Jake and Erin; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Lou Gerber; and three step-children, Patricia Anderson, Richard Yager and Brian Yager.
