FUNERAL AT MARSHFIELD
Moses LaBelle Passed Away at Home of Daughter in Laona.

Marshfield, Wis., Nov. 19. - The remains of Moses LaBelle, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Adolph Ledger in Laona, Thursday, were brought here for interment Saturday. Deceased had been a resident of Marshfield for nearly forty years. He was eighty-four years of age and leaves a number of children, all married, his wife having passed away two years ago. The funeral will take place from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church today.
Known History:
Moise Lebel became Moses LaBelle after arriving in the US with his parents in 1848 at the age of 14.

Pierre Lebel (born 1799) in L'lslet County, Quebec, was the son of Charles Francois Lebel and Marie Marthe Blanchette. He came to the U.S. to Wisconsin. Ancestry is traced to Nicholas Lebel who came to Quebec prior to 1662 from France. Pierre married Marie Victoire Beaufort dit Brunel (born 1804) in Gentilly, Quebec in 1830.
