Born in the Stickler Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri, Albert John Ausmus was a premature baby who lived 7 hours and 35 minutes. His twin brother, Robert Mitchell Ausmus, Jr. was stillborn due to strangulation by the umbilical cord. They were buried in the La Plata Cemetery on December 4, 1949. Parents were Robert Mitchell and Irene (Correia) Ausmus.
