"Emmett Eldridge Hord passed away Feb. 6, 2016, at his home in Placerville, Calif., at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobbie H. Hord; daughter, Vickie M. Hord Taylor; and son, Robert R. Hord. He is survived by his daughter, Marcie Sanz; son, Steve M. Hord; grandchildren, Branden Sanz, Lindsay Sanz, Gina Hord Silva, Wendy Veerkamp and Cory Hord; and six great-grandchildren.
Emmett was born in Dequeen, Ark., to the late Sherman and Blanche Hord. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines in World War II and the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan. After his service, he worked in the lumber and construction industry in El Dorado County until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Union.
At Emmett’s request, no services will be held."
