James Daniel Scheets, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scheets, was born in May, 1863, in Ohio, and passed away at the home of his brother, Walter Scheets, January 28, 1944; making his age at time of death 80 years and 8 months.

He was married to Arminta Hickam when a young man and to this union two children were born, John Scheets, of Rexburg, Idaho, and Ellen Jolly, of Los Angeles, California, and he is survived by five step-children, one of whom was present, James K. Hickam, of Oronogo, Mo.; and three half-brothers, Walter Scheets, of Yukon, Mo.; Lee Scheets, of Licking, Mo.; Fern Scheets, location unknown, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He professed Christ as a young man and lived a Christian life until the end. He was a friend to everyone he met and all who knew him loved him.

Pallbearers were relatives of the deceased. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J.E. Burney, of Mountain Grove, Mo. Burial under the direction of the Elliott Funeral Home, of Houston, in Big Creek cemetery, Monday, Jan. 31.
