He was a member of First Baptist Church of Detroit Lakes. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Edmonds Acklen; a daughter. Miss Susan Acklen of Detroit Lakes; his mother, Mrs T Robert Acklen of Memphis, and a sister, Mrs Broadus N. Sharpe of Memphis
