Joseph A Davis was married 3 times.  First he married Martha Horney in 1851 and they had 2 children (John Daffron Davis and Victoria Dulsia Davis).  After Martha Horney Davis died in 1864, that same year he married widow Martha Jane Lednum (maiden name Stafford).  They had 2 children (Cora C Davis and Joseph A Davis Jr.).  His second wife, Martha Jane Stafford Lednum, died in 1870.  In 1891, at the age of 65, he married 29 year-old Elizabeth Pauline Gray and they had 1 child (Cammie Lula Davis).  Joseph Davis is buried beside his 3rd wife Pauline.
