Karen was born July 8, 1956 in Corona, Calif. Her mother Loretta (Bisonette) Turner has passed away. Her father and stepmother, James and Donna Turner, survive in Fort Wayne.
She worked at Magnavox in Fort Wayne and also Dresser Wayne Inc. in Fremont. She was a member of the Waterloo Bunco Girls.
She married Duaine H Karnes on July 2, 1992, at their home on Hamilton Lake, and he survives.
She is also survived by two stepchildren and their spouses, Kelli and Tim Chiles of Galena, Ohio, and Gregory and Stephanie Karnes of Leesburg, Fla.; five grandchildren, Olivia Chiles, Luke Chiles, Sadi Karnes, Landon Karnes and Logan Duke Karnes; and a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Karren Turner of Jackson, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Robert Turner.
A celebration of life service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with Douglas Karnes officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Per Karen's request, her body has been donated for cancer research.
