WORLD WAR 1 VETERAN.
Arthur was born into a farming family at Glenthorne in the manning valley across the river from taree. He enlisted into the AIF at rutherford on the 23rd of september 1916, aged 20 and 3 months. His service # is 3043 and he was assigned to the 33rd battalion. Disembarking from sydney on the 24th january 1917, he did basic training in plymoth, England and was sent to the front line at Rouelles, France on the 20th of october 1917. Arthur was discharged on the 18th september 1919. He died aged 94 and his ashes are in the memorial garden of dawson river cemetery.
