A Navy Frogman during WWII, Seaman Baker was dropped off of Omaha Beach on 5 June 1944. His job was to clear as many of the underwater mines and obstacles as possible. During the invasion, he sat on a disabled mine and watched until being picked up by a returning boat. He later participated in the invasion of Southern France.
