His obituary in the Monroe newspapers state he was killed in the invasion of Italy. He was survived by a widow and five month old child.

His headstone application states he enlisted December 4, 1942. He served in the 3rd Div., 30th Inf., Co. K a/s Infantry. The form was filled out by Aubrey D. Lee (brother).

According to the 1910 Lincoln Parish census, Mallory was the son of Allen and Leona Lee.
