Curtis E. "Gene" Allred, age 74, went to be with his Savior, September 18, 2006.

He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on Nov. 8, 1931.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ella Kathryn (Coggeshall) Allred; son, Curtis E. Jr.; two daughters, Kathryn Gene Allred, Deborah and son-in-law Jerry Martin. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Earl Belzung and a host of beloved family and friends.

Gene was a member of Parkhills Baptist Church, Harlandale Lodge #1213 and the Alzafar Shrine. He spent many years serving as a Reserve Deputy of Bexar County, receiving Reserve Officers of the Year for his hard work in capturing the Ski Mask Rapist. He was a Kelly employee for 32 years, retiring as an Aircraft Mishap Investigator for the United States Air Force in 2000.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. the Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Gene Nagy and Mr. Lon Bass officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park under the Auspices of Harlandale Lodge #1213 A.F. and A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzafar Shrine or American Heart Association.
