Virginia was born on December 26, 1926 to Alma Von Slusher Aucoin and Normand Paul Aucoin in New Orleans, both now deceased.

Virginia sadly leaves her three wonderful successful children and their spouses: daughters Cynthia (Cindy) Cullens Enright (Michael), Colleen Cullens Milfelt (Gary Wilen), and her son Joseph (J.) Elton Cullens Jr. (Andree).
She leaves one brother Normand P. Aucoin (Gerry deceased) whom she loved.
Dee Celestin and Roberta Favaron (deceased) were also two of her cherished sisters-in-law.

Virginia graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School for Girls on a famous day, June 6, 1944, “D Day”. She taught kindergarten at St. Agnes Catholic School many years and first grade at Stuart Private School. She was a member of Lionism for 42 years. She was a loyal member of Metairie Woman’s Club for 22 years, where she was a past president and “woman of the year”.
Other organizations she was proud to be involved with included St. Elizabeth’s Guild where she received a “community activist award” and
East Jefferson General Hospital Auxiliary where she was recognized as a “Great Lady of EJGH”.
She loved her charity work and helping others less fortunate.

She was a parishioner at St. Benilde Catholic Church and attended Adoration Chapel. Her husband Curly and she belonged to a dance group called the Latin Continentals where they danced for many years. She so enjoyed her Bridge and Pokino card groups also. She had so many wonderful friends, friends like sisters and so very close.

She is survived by many, many nieces and nephews from the Cullen and Aucoin families that loved her and she adored them.

Virginia always said she had a wonderful life and a special family in every way. She loved gardening and dancing and flower arranging. She loved life and was ready for life everlasting!
