Roland married while in service sometime before 1957 when his first child was born. He brought his wife and children back to Indiana to live.

Roland R. Greek, 72, of Fontanet died at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Coal Bluff to Eugene Greek and Rosa Sills. He was employed with Anaconda Aluminum. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sue Greek. Survivors include four sons, Ricky D. Greek and partner Edward Vandevender, Don Greek and wife Jennie, Bill Greek and wife Jetta, and Bobby Bledsoe; one brother, Eugene Greek; one sister, Hazel Herb; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Eugene Greek; one sister, Madonna Harkes; and one brother, Robert Eugene Greek.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 9 in Madison, a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America - Chicago Chapter, Putnam County Radio Club, and Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Club.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Piatt officiating. Burial is in Cress Cemetery.
