Joseph George Roy, LDS ID LTP2-PNR, was [according to his death certificate] the son of Elizabeth and Adrian Roy, both parents born in New York.

[Another reference lists him as the son of Mary Caroline Tremblay, K8J8-WWC (b. Michigan 1846; d Ohio 1900), and Amable Roy, KCTB-XHS (b. Canada 1939).]

George was born in Plattsburgh, Clinton Co., New York, February 19, 1870; died at age 71 of Arterio Sclerosis at Fox Hall Farm, Norfolk Co., Virginia, January 4, 1942; buried at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, January 6, 1942.

He married in Morgantown, Butler Co., Ohio, June 18, 1898, Jennie W. Banker, #160201925, daughter of Anna Eliz Howser and Melvin Banker, aka Newton Birdsell Banker.

Jennie was born in Nebraska August 12, 1876; died at age 74, widowed, of Anemia and Hypertension in Chester, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, April 28, 1951; last residence 52 W 8th St, Chester, Delaware; buried at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, May 1, 1951.

J. George Roy was the Dancing Dutchman with in the Melville Dramatic Company. He performed as Geo. Roy with Melvin's Floating Star Theatre as a Dutch and Yankee Comedian and a Wooden Shoe Dancer in Songs, Dances, and Plays. In later years, he was the inventor of the "fun-house" and was manager and builder of the "Honeymoon Trail".

Jennie performed as Jennie Melvin with Melvin's Floating Star Theatre as the sprightly Comedian and in Connie and Pathetic Songs, Plays, and Sketches. In later years, she was manager of the "Crazy House".

[Jennie's parents owned Melvin's Floating Star Theatre, a showboat on the Green and Ohio Rivers. Her whole family took part in the performances.]

In 1910 Geo. Roy signed the Widow's Application for Accrued Pension of his step-mother-in-law Ida J. Lee Banker.

They are listed in the 1930 US Census with the Dodson Shows [Dodson's World's Fair Shows] located on Railroad Tracks in Waco, McLennan Co., Texas, along with 41 other show people and 8 railroad people as:
