Tabitha Yarborough Brunk
'Kitty'
Mrs. Brunk, 69, died July 16, 2004 at her residence after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Bayboro, SC, the daughter of the late Asbury and Ludie Ray and guardian, the late James and Lizzie Yarborough of Paw Creek. Mrs. Brunk graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and attended Kings College. She retired in 1984 after 33 years with American Telephone and Telegraph Company and was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of American and a member of Communication Workers of America Local 3606 Retired Club. She was on the Paw Creek Health and Safety Committee, and Board of Directors for Charlotte Women for Environmental Justice. Mrs. Brunk was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and Merry Makers.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Brunk of Charlotte; two brothers, Nathon Ray of Charlotte and Lester Ray of Marion, SC; two granddaughters, Jessica Howell and Crystal Burleson both of Charlotte and one great granddaughter, Tristan Howell.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 19, 2004 at Forest Lawn West with the Rev. Michael Wells officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon till 1:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte, Chapel.
