Robert “Bob” Mostek, 78, of Creston died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. The Rev. Kenneth Halbur, celebrant, and the Rev. Leonard Kenkel, concelebrant, will officiate.

Inurnment will be private at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Open visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 18, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston.

The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Malachy Foundation.

Robert “Bob” James Mostek, son of Dominic and Mary (Zabawa) Mostek, was born Aug. 30, 1937, on a farm near Ashton, Nebraska. Bob graduated from high school in Ashton, Nebraska, with the class of 1955.

On July 19, 1958, he married Janet R. Jensen in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob began working at Farm and Home for his sister and brother-in-law, Tena and Emil Lonowski, when the family moved to Creston in 1961.

He was made a partner at Farm and Home and continued working there until semi-retiring in 2011.

Bob was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and Crestmoor Golf Club.

Bob is survived by his 4 children, 8 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Janet in 2012; brothers, Clarence Mostek and Leonard Mostek; sisters-in-law, Gloria and Elaine Mostek; sister Tena Lonowski; brother-in-law Emil Lonowski and his parents, Dominic and Mary Mostek.
