Alfred Harvey Fenner, Sr., 87, went quietly home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in his home with his family by his side.

He was born March 8, 1919 in Port Huron to the late Alfred and Della Fenner.

Alfred married his loving and faithful wife, Mamie L. Bailey, on May 30, 1937.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and fought for our country during World War II. Alfred was a member of the American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8.

Alfred enjoyed many activities during his life, including riding horses, square dancing, traveling, camping, fishing, and most of all, teasing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a building contractor who took pride in remodeling many homes in the area.

In 1962, Alfred found Jesus to be his Saviour and life was forever changed. He was a member of Riverside Tabernacle Church of God.

He is survived by his wonderful caregiver and wife, Mamie; a son, Bishop and Mrs. Alfred (Patricia) Fenner, Jr. of Stubenville, Ohio; five daughters, Eleanor Ingles of Avoca, Rev. and Mrs. Paul (Claudia) Smith of Port Huron, Rev. and Mrs. Ed (Nancy) Sanders of Covington, Georgia, Rev. and Mrs. Chuck (Denise) Weaver of Port Huron, and Shelley Fenner of Kimball; 26 grandchildren; over 50 greatgrandchildren; a sister, Donna Wheeler of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and soninlaw, Edith and Wendell Harrison; two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Julia Pardee; and a brother, Willard Fenner.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in PollockRandall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2006 in Riverside Tabernacle Church of God. The Reverend Richard L. Shelton will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township. Mr. Fenner's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
