A Celebration of Life for Mr. Alvin Ray Austin of West Monroe, LA will be 12:00pm Monday, April 4, 2016 at Community Baptist Church in West Monroe with Rev. Danny McIlveene and Mitch Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Northeast Louisiana Veterans' Cemetery in Rayville, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, April 3, 2016 and from 11:00am until time of service at the church.

Mr. Austin was born April 6, 1955 in Oklahoma City, OK and passed from this life on March 31, 2016 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 60. He served in the United States Navy in infantry gun crews, and seamanship specialist, commander mine division 125. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and American Legion #401. He worked for Vincent Guard Service as an armed security guard for Bank-Tec South. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norvin Stracy Austin and Joyce Evelyn Hines Norris, and father-in-law, Virgil Red Green.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sue Green Austin; his children, Timothy, Bobbie Sue, Jennifer, Justin, and Stracy; thirteen grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mary Jo Green-Momma Sug; one brother, James Glen Austin; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Justin Higginbotham, Brock Leonard, Cody Griffin, Brian Leonard, Bobby Green and Barry Lockwood.
