Blanche Noreen Abbott was born in Callahan County, Texas on March 5, 1922 and passed away on March 25, 2016 in Grapevine, Texas.

Blanche was married to William "Ace" Abbott from December 24, 1940 until his death in 1970. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora Wright, brother Winifred Wright and daughter, Nita F. Abbott.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter 833 for over 50 years during which time she twice served as Worthy Matron. From 1978 until her retirement in 2000, she served as internal auditor for Allied Pharmacy Management.

Blanche worked part time in the Abilene office of State Senator Troy Fraser. In 1984 she was selected Woman of the Year by the Key City Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. Blanche was known for her quick wit, unflappable personality, organizational and cooking skills. She loved her family and was the rock that her family always sought for comfort and advice. She was a lady who lived her life with grace and style. She was member of Fairmount Methodist Church in Abilene.

Blanche is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Phyllis Wright; daughter and son-in-law Rita and Richard Goodner; son William R. Abbott; grandchildren Lesa Jones, Paul Gafford, Eric Goodner and Nicole MacFarlane; and great grandchildren Casey Jones, Matthew and Eliott Goodner, Daphne and Liam MacFarlane.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 South Hwy 277 South. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Queen Esther Chapter 833 Humanitarian Fund, Tamela Henington, Secretary, 8 Cherry Hill West, Abilene, TX 79606.
