Arriving in Vietnam 23 May 1967, Frederick was assigned to HMH-463, MAG-15, 1st Marine Air Wing.
Frederick was the pilot of a CH-53A #153710 when the helicopter hit the side of a
mountain, 15 kilometers south southwest of Ba Long Airfield. The helicopter crashed and burned. Frederick died as a result of injuries to the body. His remains were recovered 28 January 1968.
Captain Schram served his country for 6 years.
Survived by his wife; Lynn Schram and his son; Erik L Schram of 220 E Amber St, Pensacola, Florida and his parents; Lloyd R and Gladys D Schram of 504 Avenue G, Redondo, California.
