Eleanor Strother was married to David E. Stuckey November 3, 1951. She was a mother and homemaker for her children and enjoyed her career with the Columbia-Brazoria Independent School District for 22 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, David E. Stuckey, daughter, Janis Summerlin and husband, Jerrold, of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Glynis Ramsey and husband, Jerry, of Livingston, Texas; son, Mark Stuckey and wife, Pam, of Brazoria, Texas; daughter, Iris Murray and husband, John, of Hoschton, Ga. ; and daughter, Amanda Nolen and husband, John Mark, of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bethany Davis and husband Armand, Brittany Correll and husband Bruce, Brooke Poehl and husband Bobby, Benjamin Stuckey, Amy Bilecki and husband Mark, Elise and Eden Murray and Jordan, John and Kate Nolen.
Her great grandchildren were very much a joy to her life, Kaedan Frankum, Kynnadi and Kolton Correll, Gavin Poehl and Brileigh Davis.
She is also survived by two sisters, Cemonia Williams and Jimmie Reynolds of Lake Jackson, Texas; and a brother, Glenford Strother of Marksville, La., as well as a large host of loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, on Monday, August 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be from
4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009, at Baker Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks and gratitude to the Hospice team at Odyssey Health Care for their wonderful care and also to independent caregivers, Rita Cloud and Tammy Ochoa.
