Leonard Wayne "Bo" Parker, 70, of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, in Bay St. Louis.

Wayne grew up in the "oil patch" in Olla, Louisiana, attending Lasalle High School. His family moved to Gulfport, Mississippi, for his senior year, where he graduated from Gulfport High in 1963. He then attended Perkinston Junior College, where he met the love of his life, Penny.

He spent many years in the printing business, working for Office Supply Company in Gulfport, being an owner of Printer's Alley in Biloxi, and eventually working for SEF in Mobile, Alabama. In later years, he worked in RV Sales with Paw Paw's Camper City, Gold Coast RV and Doug's Camper Sales. He retired in 2007, and enjoyed running a small lawn service in his free time.

Over the years, Wayne maintained many lifelong friendships from his time in Olla, traveling back for Homecoming every year. He also had many good friends in the Bay, where he enjoyed reporting to the "office" every afternoon at the Waffle House to have coffee and fellowship.

Wayne's love of fishing might only have been outweighed by his love of cooking. He and Penny hosted gatherings of friends and family at their home, fondly called the "Baithouse Grill," where he was in charge as grillmaster or fry chief, always in search of the perfect hushpuppy and tartar sauce recipes. When he wasn't busy entertaining, he loved hosting "Camp Granddog" for his four-legged grandchildren, Sophie, Catie, Scarlet and Sadie.

Wayne and Penny celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past June with a beautiful sunset cruise aboard the Glenn Swetman schooner in Biloxi, accompanied by friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Penn Parker and Mable Lowrey Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Parker, of Bay St. Louis; two daughters, Cheryl Smith and her husband, Adrian, of Gulfport, and Susan Parker and Bob Smyth of Ocean Springs; his grandson, Devvon Penn Mitchell; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, with a Memorial service at 4:00 pm at St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Gulfport, MS. A reception will follow in the parish hall of the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Diane Moore, Chairperson, NARFE, MS Fed Alzheimer's Program, P. O. Box 3332, Gulfport, MS 39505-3332. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
