ARCHIBALD TITUS was born in Delaware abt 1770, son of a Scotch [error should be Dutch/Holland] immigrant, and was married to Nancy Hartford. He had five sons and six daughters: Isaiah, Martha, William, Lucy, John, Annie, Mary, Samuel, Sarah, James, Eliza (wife of Elijah Baker), the youngest, is living on the old place. This family had eleven representatives in the war and one rests in an unmarked grave on a Southern battle-field. Isaiah Titus, the oldest son of Archibald Titus, was born 15 May 1804. He married Elizabeth Boyer 10 July 1828, and they had ten children: Archibald (married Jane Stambaugh, who died in 1868, leaving three children), Deliah (Mrs. Hiram Young, of Kansas), John (who lived in Allegheny Co., PA, married Sarah Best, and has eight children), Samuel (who was born 01 December 1837, died 24 April 1858), Mary M. (Mrs. James Jones, died 01 June 1873), Belinda (Mrs. Samuel Hewitt, died 15 March 1881), Margaret (Mrs. John Eberhart, of Iowa), Isaiah (who married Mary Moyer, has one child, and owns and lives on the old homestead), Wilford (married Marilla Alderman, who died in 1873, leaving one child, married for his second wife Angeline Moyer, and has five children), James (married Margaret Wilson, has six children *our connection). Isaiah Titus, was father to all of the above children passing 25 March 1855, with is wife passing 07 February 1874.

His will Book 2, page 35. Recorded in Mercer Co., Court House, Mercer, PA. “In the name of God Amen - I Archibald Titus of Hickory Township, Mercer County, State of Pa., being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding (praised be God for it) and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof; and to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for free pardon and remission of all my sins and to enjoy everlasting happiness in the Heavenly Kingdom through Jesus Christ my Savior; my body I commit to the earth at the descretion of my executrix hereinafter named - And as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to entrust me I dispose of the same as follows - First I do appoint and make by this my last will and testament my wife Ann Titus my sole executrix to settle all my business and to pay all of my lawful debts and to collect all debts due to me - And further I do give to my son James Titus a spotted colt which has heretofore been called his which colt he is to have at my decease - And further I do give and bequeath to my said son James Titus so much of my estate as shall be equal to the amount which I have heretofore given to my other sons individually which sum shall be paid to him when he arrives to the age of twenty - one years by my before named executrix - And further I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Titus so much of my estate as shall be equal to the amount heretofore given to my other daughters individually which sum shall also be paid to her when she arrives to the age of eighteen by my before named executrix - And further I do by this my last will and testament require my son Isaiah Titus to pay out of the lands I have heretofore given him fifty dollars to my son John Titus - And furthermore I do give unto my wife Ann Titus all the profits arising from my entire estate for the maintenance of my said son James Titus and my daughter Elizabeth Titus until they shall arrive to the age which is to entitle them to their respective legacies - And furthermore I do give and bequeath to my wife Ann Titus all of my estate which may remain after she has paid the two legacies before mentioned to dispose of as she may think proper providing she shall still remain my widow - And furthermore it is my last will and testament that the several sums which I have heretofore given unto William Titus and unto Isaiah Titus (when he shall have given unto the aforesaid John Titus the aforesaid fifty dollars) and unto John Titus and Samuel Titus also the several sums heretofore given to daughters Patty Morford and Mary Dugan and Sally Haggerty and Anna Dunham shall be the respective portion of each and every one of them.
