_FA4: 7 OCT 1861 Enlisted Co. F. 75th Regiment Ohio Volunteers Infantry.
_FA5: 31 OCT 1861 Discharged reason Surgents certificate from injury at Battle of Bull Run.
_FA6: 20 JUL 1863 Improved health, reenlisted in Co. B, 4th Independent Battalion, Ohio Calvary.
_FA7: 15 FEB 1864 Served six months after reenlisting, then was discharged.
_FA8: 20 MAR 1864 Enlisted for third time in Co. M, 13th Ohio Calvary.
_FA9: 4 JUL 1965 Served in Co. M. until end of Civil War and was discharged.
_FA10: 1856 Joined Masonic order.
_FA11: 1867 Fall of 1867 John and Eliza left Johnsville & moved to Ford County, Illinois
_FA12: Later moved to Lawrence County Illinois
_FA13: 1871 Moved to Orogon Flats, Carroll County (Now Bergman in Boone County Arkansas.
_ELEC: Settled near Veedersburg, Fountain County, Indiana.
Baptism: Immigrated with his parents in 1855 by wagon train.

Note:
1888 - Moved to Denver, five miles northeast of Green Forest, Carroll County, Arkansas. John was an invalid for many years from the injury sustained at Bull Run. During his last years not a murmur passed his lips. As a lad he joined the Methodis Episcopalian Church and remained in that faith to the end. Rev. Edwards and Rev. Brasfield conducted his funeral services under the charge of the Masonic order. Was buried in the Pickins Cemetery.
