After an illness of eighteen years with paralysis, the last seven of which she was confined to bed, Mrs. Rachel Divert died at 7 o'clock this morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. A. B. Crow, 310 West Jackson street. She was aged 78 years.*
In absence of Rev. M. E. Gibson, pastor of the U. B. church, of which Mrs. Divert was a member, the funeral services will be conducted from the Crow home at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The remains will be taken to Bryan Monday morning and interred beside the body of her husband, Thomas J. Divert, who died there five years ago.
The deceased was a daughter of Obid and Matilda Tharp and was born Dec. 21, 1836* in Allen county. At the age of eight years the family moved to the vicinity of Defiance, where she was married March 15, 1866, to Mr. Divert. Four children were born to this union and survive their parents. They are Mrs. Matilda Harper, of Mansfield, Ore.; Orlo Divert, Montpelier, O.; Homer, Elkhart, Ind., and Mrs. Ethel Lirot, Edgerton, O.; also thirteen grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister also survive: Jacob Tharp and Mrs. A. B. Crow, of Fostoria; Abraham Tharp, of Spokane, Wash. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Divert moved to Bryan, where they lived till his death five years ago.

Note: Death certificate states she was 68 years of age at the time of her death and was born Dec. 21, 1846.
