Bill trained as a Precision Instrument Maker at Northampton Polytechnic Institute in London and served in the Royal Air Force as an air crew signaler. He and his family immigrated to Texas in 1965 living in Angleton before later moving to Houston. He worked for various contractors for NASA for 47 years. His endeavors helped make the shuttle and space station programs successful. Bill was a knowledgeable and wise man whose interests were wide and varied. His primary skill was as a precision instrument maker but he was learned in many areas and maintained a fierce curiosity throughout his life. His grandchildren benefitted from his passion and commitment to education. He was a supportive and loving grandfather who took a strong interest in the lives of his family.
Bill and his wife became United States citizens in 1995. Bill passionately believed in justice for others. As such he had a keen interest in the political process and shared his beliefs and concerns with others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Flora Davidson and William Davidson; daughter, Lynne Davidson Crawford, and brother, Richard Davidson.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda; daughter, Carole Dennis and her husband Scott; brothers, Ian, Laurance, Anthony, and Neil; sisters, Lynette Wotton, and Rosslyn Viala; grandchildren, Melissa Crawford Kestner, Joel Hammond, Jason Shalia and Carson Crawford; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Madelynne, Timothy, Ellie and Jack.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Scott Funeral Home.
