Cynthia Jo "Cindy" Evans, age 65, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away October 13, 2015, in Georgetown, Texas. Cindy was born on January 22, 1950, to Stanley M. and Mary Jo (Eckert) Collier in Austin, Texas. Cindy graduated from McCallum High School in 1968 and then attended Texas State University. She was employed for ten years at American Founders Life Insurance Company in Austin. She met Charles L. Evans at Rosedale Baptist Church, Austin, Texas, and they were married on July 11, 1970. The couple lived in Austin until moving to Georgetown, Texas, in 1984. In Georgetown, Cindy was Administrative Assistant to the City Attorney for the City of Georgetown for three years. Cindy's passion in life was serving the Lord and the care of her family. Cindy was an active member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown. She was a Ministry Assistant in the church office at First Baptist for 20 years. Daily, she went about her ministry with diligence, devotion, and a commitment to excellence. She was serving the Lord and His church. Cindy and Charles raised a family of two children teaching them to love the Lord. She was a mentor, advisor, encourager, wife, mother, and grandmother. Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles L. Evans, who passed away in September of 2013. Cindy is survived by her son, Michael L. Evans of Georgetown, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Mark Hickox of Wylie, Texas; and grandsons, Austin and Charles Graham of Wylie, Texas. Cindy is also survived by her sister, Donna Collier Dittfurth of Victoria, Texas, and nephew, Richard Turner and wife, Jen, of Katy, Texas, and niece, Mindy Stover and husband, Jason, of Victoria, Texas. Memorial donations may be made in Cindy's name to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Georgetown, Texas, 1333 W. University Avenue, Georgetown, Texas 78626. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Ramsey Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church, 1333 W. University Avenue, Georgetown, Texas.
