Glenna Maxine Himes, 87, of Poland, formerly of Anderson, Ind, died at 8:05 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003 at her residence where she has resided the last 16 years. She was born on December 12, 1915 in Anderson, the daughter of Kenneth and Gladys Moore Michaels. For many years, she was manager and caretaker at Anderson Chase Apartments and has always enjoyed being a grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her long time companion, Chuck Hall.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Joanne Sullivan, Atlantic Beach, Florida, and Judy A. McCay and her husband Dan, of Poland; one son, James Kenneth Summers and his wife Vicki, of Chesterfield, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday June 2, 2003 at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home with Jimmy Baldwin officiating. Visitation is 5 p.m. Monday until services. At her request, she will be cremated with burial at a later date in Poland Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation to Vistacare, 3900 S 7th St, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
