TORONTO, Ohio — Kamila S. Allen, 61, of Toronto died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at home.

She was born July 13, 1945, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late C. Gregory and Isabel Wetherill Stapko.

Surviving are her husband, Stephen A. Allen, whom she married Aug. 25, 1973; one son, Benjamin G. (Jessica) Allen of Delaware, Ohio; five brothers, John (Ruth) Stapko of Laurel, Md., Gregory (Grace) Stapko of Big Bear City, Calif., Joseph Stapko of Berryville, Va., Christopher (Michelle) Stapko of Alexandria, Va., and Michael (Edda) Stapko of Ontario, Calif.

Kamila retired in 2005 as a teacher in the Edison Local School District, teaching as a reading specialist at the Irondale Elementary School. She was a member of the National Education Association; Ohio Education Association; International Reading Association; Edison Local Education Association; and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She was also a former member of the Richmond Lioness Club.

There will be no calling hours.
