Company F, 8th Kansas Infantry
∼David Cambell Newman (Neuman)was a very early pioneer coming from Washington County, Illinois to "New Chicago" (early name for Chanute). He married 3 times, the 3rd wife was Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ann Hechler from Washington County, Illinois where they married on 20 August 1871. They were parents of 8 children: Maggie Mae 1872-1962, Rosannah 1874-1951, David Cambell Jr. 1876-1858, Anna 1878-1972, Lena 1880-1976, John Michael 1882-1954, George Philip 1884-1959, and Lola Elizabeth 1886-1962. Note he spelled his middle name Cambell, not Campbell. Some of the family spell Newman with a "u" and some with a "w". Was a Civil War Veteran.∼
The marriage date of David and Rosannah is a guess. We know she was his second wife. No children were born to them.
