Burton Jessie "Burt "Bellon, 92, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, April 06, 2016 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Bellon was born in Basile, raised in Big Lake and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a Merchant Marine for the US Navy. He retired a Longshoreman with the Port of Lake Charles at the age of 55 to work his land as a Cattleman. He was an avid rodeo and football fan, #1 Saints fan, "as long as they were winning" and more than anything, loved mowing his lawn and country music. Mr. Bellon was an admirable man of his generation, a good man, hardworking, with an overwhelming love and devotion to his faith and his family. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Doucet Bellon; parents, Estelle and Sarah Young Bellon; brother, Sonny Bellon; and two sisters, Mammie Castete and Vinnie Baugher.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 09, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Jeffrey Starkovich will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
