Graveside services for Henry Brooks Atchison, 96 of Tyler, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Father Matt Boulter officiating, under direction of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Mr. Atchison passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Tyler. He was born December 29, 1919 in Doddridge, Arkansas to the late John Henry and Beatrice Pool Atchison. Mr. Atchison attended Southern Methodist University before going into the service. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Master Cheif. He worked for Tyler Pipe Industries for many years as a quality control manager. He held his church membership for many years with Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Atchison in 2011, by a brother, Ben Atchison; and by an infant son, David Alan Atchison. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Atchison and Susie Walker-Atchison of San Antonio and Mark Atchison of Tyler; three grandchildren and four great- grandchildren and several; and nieces and nephews.
