Nancy Jane Foshee Aven, 80, of Courtland, MS, passed away on April 7, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Batesville, MS.

She was born on September 8, 1935 in Greenwood, MS to Jimmie Mae Long Foshee and John William Foshee.

She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking and taking care of family.

Mrs. Aven is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Aven Roberts (Mike) and one son Gerald M. Aven, Jr. (Debbie) all of Courtland, MS; two sisters, Mary Henderson of Water Valley, MS and Ruby Kennedy of Jackson, MS; one brother, Freddie Foshee of Batesville, MS and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. “Ted” Aven, Sr.; one son, Louis William Aven; her parents; two sisters, Margaret Dean and LaVera Dean; four brothers, Chester Harrfell, Harry Harrell, Dewey Foshee and Joe Foshee.
