Minnie Amelia Piper, 89, of 415 W. Allen St. died at 9:35 a.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital.

She was born Feb. 16, 1902, in Carrollton, the daughter of John Henry and Eliza Edson Regelien.

A resident of Springfield most of her life, she married Clarence Albert Piper in 1920. He died in 1964.

Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Clara Eglin, Nell Bockus, Emma Westberg and Addie Benner; one brother, Clarence Regelien; and one grandson.

Mrs. Piper was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co.

Surviving are one son, Daniel Lee of Springfield; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Gentry of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, with Bishop A.J. Mackelprang officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
