ELMER, JOHN WILLIAM, L.-Corpl., No. 14468, 8th (Service) Battn. The Suffolk Regt., eldest s. of the late Henry Elmer, of Haughley, Saddler, by his wife, Alice Jane, dau. of William Dedman, of Claydon, Builder; and brother to Private Walter Henry Elmer (q.v.); b. Haughley, co. Suffolk, 29 Aug 1894; educ. Claydon School; was employed on Agricultural Work; enlisted in the Suffolk Regt. 12 Sept. 1914; served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from June, 1915, and was killed in action 5 April 1918. Buried where he fell. He. m. at Old Newton, Gertrude (Stowmarket Road, Haughley, co.
