Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Marguerite Smith, and by her brother, Gary Smith.
She is survived by her two sons; her daughters-in-law, and her granddaughters.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1928, and after graduating from Klamath Union High School in 1947, attended the University of Oregon, where she received a bachelor's degree in biology in 1951.
She relocated to the San Francisco Bay area and in 1966 moved with her sons to Sebastopol, where she resided for almost 50 years. Norma was co-owner and co-manager of Kozy Katz, a women's apparel shop, from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. She made a warm and inviting home for her sons and their friends, five of whom also regularly called her "Mom."
Norma was a venturesome traveler, enjoying out-of-the-way destinations such as Taipei, Moscow, Samarkand, Dushanbe and Kyiv as much as - or even more than - more traditional tourist destinations such as London. She enjoyed playing bridge and attained the ranking of life master through tournament play. Norma will be sorely missed.
