Johnny Wayne Weeks, 68, of Canadian, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Tulsa. Johnny was born to J.D. Doodle and Jocie (Dudark) Weeks on January 14, 1948, in McAlester. He attended Canadian School and graduated in 1966. Johnny married Donna Kay Bass on December 29, 1973, in Porum. He worked in the garment industry for over 25 years at White Stag Manufacturing in Checotah, where he worked in the garment cutting room and then as supervisor. He then worked for Canadian School as a custodian and bus driver for the past 20 years. Johnny kept the clock at Canadian basketball games for the past 50 years. He enjoyed gardening and cattle farming. He attended Canadian Church of Christ with his wife, Donna. Survived by his wife, Donna Weeks, of the home; son, Jeff Weeks and wife, Sarah, of Shawnee; grandchildren, Blake Weeks and Baylee Weeks, both of Shawnee; sister, Sherry Solomon of McAlester; nieces and nephews, David Pilgrim, Brent Pilgrim, Christy Moore, Kelli Hopper, Katie Bumgarner, Karlita Lott and Matthew Rogers, and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Doodle Weeks and Jocie Weeks, and sister, Lois Ann Pilgrim. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Darrell James Gymnasium at Canadian Public School officiated by Ron Sullivan and the Rev. Rodney Karch. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. Pallbearers will be Sammy McElhaney, Kenny Leak, Daniel Lokey, Tommy Pinkley, Chris Cox and Chris Wickware. Honorary pallbearers will be the administrators, faculty and staff, as well as past students of Canadian Public School.
