William T. Campbell, 69, of 505 N. 14th, Herrin, died a 6:54 pm Saturday, April 7, 1990 at Herrin Hospital. Services will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with burial in San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was retired from the Fish and Wildlife Department at Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge. He was a member of the Catholic Church, K of C, American Legion and was a paratrooper in the 503rd Airborne during World War II.
He was born April 17, 1920 in Cambria to David and Pearl Crain Campbell. He married Margaret Nigra February 16, 1946 in Herrin and she survives. Other survivors include daughters, Judy Ann Jones of Madison WI, Toni Marie Andeslich of Herrin, and Cindy Sue Minor of Benton, three grandchildren, and a half-sister, Nell Skelcher of Murphysboro. He was preceded in death by his parents.
