Jim was born on December 29, 1953 to Allen and Judith Buck in St. Helens, Oregon. Later Winford Forman became his step-father and instilled a great work ethic in Jim. Jim graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, Oregon in 1972. He was employed as a Letter Carrier by the United States Postal Service beginning in 1977 where he enjoyed giving excellent service to his patrons and winning over the hearts of their 4-legged friends. He met Virginia, the love of his life, at Hinson Baptist Church and they wed in May 1991. A highlight of Jim’s life was raising their two sons, Benjamin and Jonathan, and he was a devoted and prayerful husband and father.
For the past 23 years he was an active member of SW Hills Baptist Church where he was a leader in the AWANA program. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center and playing softball, tennis and golf until his Parkinson’s Disease and brain cancer curtailed these activities. He was a loving and faithful friend to many and had a great sense of humor.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and his step-father. Jim is survived by his wife, Virginia, their two sons, Benjamin and Jonathan, and his brothers William Buck, Robert Buck, and Stuart Forman.
